Single 3/4 Round Edge — Egyptian Marble & Granite

The single 3/4 round — known in the countertop trade as a 3/4 bullnose — is the profile for people who find the eased edge too strict and the full bullnose too soft. The top corner is rounded through roughly three-quarters of the edge’s thickness, leaving a slim flat at the base: the stone feels generously rounded under the hand, yet keeps a crisp shadow line that defines the countertop’s silhouette.

What a Single 3/4 Round Edge Is

The edge is machined with a deep radius from the top surface down through most of the edge face , then polished to match the surface finish. The remaining flat at the bottom does quiet work: it gives the edge a defined base line, so the stone reads substantial rather than pillowy — the visual difference between this profile and a full half-circle bullnose.

Where It's Used

Kitchen countertops and islands where family life happens — the deep rounding is forgiving to hips, hands and passing children — plus bathroom vanities, table tops, reception desks and bar counters. It pairs with every surface finish and stone we produce, and like all our profiles it is cut per piece: order it on our granite and marble countertops alongside other edges in the same shipment.

3/4 Round, 1/4 Round or Full Bullnose?

Three steps on the same dial. The 1/4 round softens just the corner — closest to eased. The 3/4 round rounds most of the edge but keeps a defined base. The full bullnose rounds everything into a half-circle — the softest of all. The half bullnose is the asymmetric cousin: rolled on top, flat below. See all eight profiles side by side in our edge finishes guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a 3/4 round and a full bullnose?

A full bullnose rounds the entire edge into a half-circle. The 3/4 round stops short, keeping a small flat at the base — nearly as soft to the touch, but with a defined line that makes the stone look more architectural.

Is a 3/4 round edge good for kitchens?

Very — the deep rounding has no sharp corner to chip or to catch a hip, making it one of the most family-friendly profiles after the full bullnose.

Is this the same as a 3/4 bullnose?

Yes — “single 3/4 round” and “3/4 bullnose” are two names for the same profile. Fabricators and importers use both; we cut it to your drawing either way.
